How To: Create a Business Routine & Schedule + Free Download

Schedules and Lists. That’s how you make shit happen!

I’ve been freelancing for over 7 years now and I can’t tell you how important keeping a schedule and a routine is to the success of my business. The times when I’d break away and just “wing it” – my finances and my prospects plummeted. Your clients and your readers like to know that you’re around. They want to know when they can expect you and that you’re a constant force in their little universe.

This means that even as creatives we have to organize our thoughts and be very specific about what, and where, and when things need to happen. THIS means keeping detailed lists and having a business routine that you actually follow (like a religion but with less funny hats… unless that’s your thing, in that case it’s exactly like a religion… too far?)

Anyway, I created this workbook to share my Business Routine Breakdown Checklist with you. It has my daily, weekly, monthly routine as well as an extra page that you can print out and and use to create your own checklist. So feel free to use and tweak it to meet your own needs.

  3. Amazing blog! Do you have any tips for aspiring writers? I’m hoping to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you recommend starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m totally overwhelmed .. Any ideas? Appreciate it!|

I appreciate that! Tips for aspiring writers: jump in. The only way to get better at writing is to write. Pick a topic and just go with it. Think about questions you can answer, things you can teach, lists you can make, etc… I’ll be doing a post soon about blog topics. Watch for it. 🙂 I would recommend going with WordPress for beginners. It’s easy to learn and it already has the built in SEO that will make it easier for your fans to find/follow you. If you’d like, you can email me and we can discuss some more options, just click through to my contact page and I’ll get back with you asap. 🙂 Thanks again! Good luck. 🙂
